As your council member, I will be your voice at City Hall and strengthen efforts to foster open and meaningful communication across our community. I will advocate for accessible and timely updates on economic development projects effecting our neighborhood, making it easier for you to stay informed and engaged.

Community-centered development is at the heart of my platform. I will advocate for policies that sustain the character of our historic neighborhoods while responsibly weighing opportunities for growth and development. Additionally, I’ll work through public-private partnerships to revitalize vacant or deteriorating properties, transforming them into opportunities for growth and prosperity.

Building strong connections and trust within our community is essential. I will support events and initiatives that bring neighbors together and celebrate our community. As your council person, I will champion transparency in budgeting and decision-making to strengthen trust between residents and the city council.

I firmly believe a safe community starts with well-supported public safety departments. Newark’s police officers and firefighters show up for us every day, and they deserve the resources and respect to do their jobs well. While I stand behind continued investment in our police department, I also recognize the urgent need to prioritize improvements to our fire services. Newark’s firefighters have been unable to maintain a competitive advantage in the marketplace, making it difficult to attract and retain top talent due to lower pay and benefits. Strengthening our fire department isn’t just about fairness—it’s about ensuring every Newark resident gets the emergency response they deserve.
